So I’ve made applesauce with my mom but I thought this time I’d try my hand at a spiced apple jelly. The apples are boiling down as I type so it’ll be a long evening ahead of me. hehe I had thought of trying some different apple butters or combo apple/plum jelly but I figured I should start simple. Boil shit down, add a fuck load of sugar and tastiness can’t be too far away.
Epic fail! I tried twice to no avail, I just could not crisp my kale. (har har)
The pieces I tore up were too small and I think it’d work better if the temperature was 300 instead. I just couldn’t stop mine from burning. Although, even a bit burnt they’re tasty so that’s a good sign.
More rice, canned peas, one scrambled egg and spiced to taste with cumin, cilantro, salt and pepper.
Gummy candies are probably one of my bigger weaknesses, thanks FoodGawker for my own recipe!
Om nom nom
Tonight I’m going to try:
Not as a meal persay, just to have throughout the week for whatever. I have an ever-growing list of favorites over at FoodGawker and I’ve barely tried maybe 10 of the recipes. I need to get cracking!
Gorgeous pictures and recipes to match.
Who knew rice, lima beans, butter, pepper and cumin could taste so good?
I’m so excited for the summery weather and having an nearly un-planned weekend!
eta: that’s a lot of bready type things. Maybe I’ll make my mom’s lemon fluff instead.
